The bison was a revered animal in early times. It's spirit was honored, as the bison was the animal that provided - full of abundance for early people - food, shelter, clothing. It gave its entire life and body for human survival. I have seen many rock art sites with bison carved into the rock wall. The images in this work represent the early Plains style.
