Well, I was going to show you photos of the Rock Art I saw in Spain near the town of Bicorp, but I'll save that for another day. I was in Chicago at the Cultural Center a few days ago and was chatting with the staff and looked around at the gallery and it was all white walls ! They said that they needed art up ASAP as they were planning a big event with Millennium Park for May 10, 2024. As you many know, I was supposed to have an exhibit there 2 months after COVID hit and they shut down the whole building.
So, we planned an installation day for May 9, exhibit opening May 10 and an artist talk at 1:00 on May 10! We will have the reception on Friday, May 17 from 3:00 - 6:00pm. The show runs May 10 - July 7, Monday-Friday 10:00 -5:00 at the
Chicago Cultural Center, Renaissance Court is on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street. If you take the South Shore train and get off at Millennium Park, the last stop, you will be right in front of the Cultural Center.
I've been scrambling like a crazy artist for the last few days getting prepared for this big show. I'll have at least 20 paintings in the gallery. The staff says they are ready for a burst of color! Of course, I've had a lot of help from my friends with planning and ideas, the staff members, Donna and Mariah at the Center are amazing, and my friend Larry Brechner made a great promotional video for me that you can view on Facebook. You can also view Chicago Gallery News for banners of the exhibit.
Well, I hope you can all make it to the show! I'm very excited and thankful to have this opportunity. Dorothy
