Sand Paintings!

Updated: Mar 25, 2023

My friend that I hike with is a Hopi Elder. We camp every year in the southwest desert. The camping can be intense ! We have had ice and snow and heavy rain collapse our tent, we've put the tent up in 40 mile per hour winds. Camping is not easy. My friend recently sent me some beautiful white and brown sand from the reservation in Arizona and I've been incorporating the sand in my paintings. I just sketched out this one and the background is loaded with sand and rocks. It's amazing how the sand/rocks move and change the paint. I'll work on this painting for a while and publish the final painting. If you would like to know more about me go to the "About" section on my home page.

The completed work is also posted on this blog. The title is: "I See You" Purchase information for the original as well as prints and cards can be found in Gallery 4, " If you love pictographs"
